Re-entry. About that . . .

I’m not getting any work done (again) so maybe I’ll write a (short) blog post instead.  After all, it’s past the bedtime I became accustomed to on Sea to Sea.  I have been trying to “catch up” ever since we got home.  Trying to catch up—not unlike my riding on those mountain passes!

Rudy put it well this afternoon, “I find myself taking life at a slower pace, taking time to bid the students farewell as they leave for the day.”  That’s easy for him to say, he had a week of half days last week because of the extreme heat and the mostly non-air-conditioned school building; and this was his first full day back in the classroom!  I, on the other hand . . .

Let's just say, life seems busy.  When I attempt to get “caught up”, more often than not, cathcing up eludes me.  Have I grown so accustomed to not working that I’ve forgotten how?  Of course not.  But I’ve tasted another life.  Another pace.  And it leaves me wanting more.  More of less.  Does that make sense to anyone other than me?

The bills from my broken leg arrived while we finished Sea to Sea.  Thanks to them, we met our (large enough) health insurance deductible for the year.  The lure of extra income to pay extra bills is tugging . . . and about to reel us in.  Or maybe this temporary job opportunity is God’s way of providing what we need.

Would that I/we be as attentive to the fullness of “Thy Kingdom come” as we paint a house and teach, as we were in those (carefree, crazy) days of summer.

Thy Kingdom come.

Your rule.

Your reign.

Your shalom.

Come.

Here.
